Faith Formation

Parish Faith Formation Programs

The Faith Formation programs of San Antonio Parish seek to provide children, youth, and adults with the knowledge, experiences, spirituality, moral compass, and skills necessary to become (and remain) faithful disciples of Christ.  When we share our faith with others, we share in Jesus' own mission of proclaiming the Kingdom of God.  Great care is taken with children, youth, and adults to help ensure a life of strong faith.

Children's Faith Formation (Grades PreK-5) meets on Sunday mornings. Our program begins with our 9:00 AM Family Mass, followed by check-in in the Ministry Center at 10:15 AM. After check-in students are dismissed to classrooms for grade-level lessons at 10:30 AM.  Some Sundays may feature special family events and parents are encouraged to stay for the entire session.

San Antonio EDGE (Grades 6-8) is a Catholic middle school youth ministry program. It provides a safe, fun place for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith, and, most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way. EDGE resources speak to the physical, psychological, cognitive, relational, and spiritual maturation of middle school youth. These resources present Catholic teaching in a way that young people can understand.

LIFETEEN Youth Group (Grades 9-12)  San Antonio Youth Group sessions are based on the nationally recognized LifeTeen program.  LifeTeen is a comprehensive Youth Group program within the Roman Catholic Church that leads teenagers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. With the Blessed Virgin Mary as intercessor and guide, LifeTeen seeks to unleash the fullness of the Sacramental power present within the young Church.

San Antonio EDGE and LIFETEEN will meet Sunday evenings at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church

Mass - 5:30 PM

Dinner - 6:45 PM

Meeting - 7:15 PM to 8:30 PM

Our goals for the San Antonio Youth Group:

Goal 1: To empower young people to live as Disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.

Goal 2: To draw our young people to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community.

Goal 3: To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

To accomplish these goals we make sure to reach out to teens on four levels: spiritual, emotional, social, and educational.  Each session we enjoy social time with fellowship over a free meal.  After our meal, we move into our Life Night which may be comprised of a relevant social issue, an educational teaching, or simply having fun!

Regardless of the subject of the Life Night, our objective is to include teens in an interactive way through music, skits, service projects, and other group activities.  We truly believe that teens are eager to hear the Truth and open to God's loving message in a fun and open environment.
