Bulletin Submissions

GUIDE FOR SUBMITTING BULLETIN ARTICLES

All bulletin submissions, including finished copy and artwork, are subject to editorial approval. All submissions must be received by 5:00 PM TWO THURSDAYS before the bulletin’s Sunday publishing date. If you have an event occurring after the Thursday deadline, inform the bulletin editor about how much space you will need so, if possible, space can be reserved. Bulletin deadlines may be earlier because of holidays. All submissions should be emailed to the editor. If emailing is not possible, contact the bulletin editor.

Email submissions to: billzbulletin@gmail.com

Text should be in DOC (Word for Windows or similar) format and graphics in JPEG, GIF, or PUB format. Please do not use a hard return or “Enter” (¶) after a sentence or line. Please use it only when ending a paragraph. If the bulletin editor is to do work on a graphic, it should be in a PUB (MS Publisher) format if possible. Please do not use a PDF format. In the Subject field, please indicate your organization, article title, and publishing (Sunday) date(s) the article is to run, such as:

Subject: WG Monthly Meeting 9/15

Subject: K of C Rosary Rally 6/5 & 6/12

Subject: SVDP Monthly Collection 7/25

Please do not place multiple articles in an email. Submit a separate email for each article. Do not attach articles to any other emails, including proof(s) that may be sent.

If you submit a graphic for an article, it must not be copyright. Do not assume that any graphic that does not have the copyright symbol (©) is not copyrighted because it can be! Copyright violations can be very expensive!

Do not assume that the bulletin editor will automatically place an article in the bulletin for your organization.

Your organization should have only one person providing information to the bulletin editor. We have had situations where different people were giving conflicting information to the bulletin editor.

If you have a layout (advertisement) for your organization, it will be published within a reasonable time of the event. Layouts may be reduced in size if space is not available. The bulletin editor may edit the layout to an appropriate size. Full-page layouts may be used, but a half-page, three-quarter page, or smaller layout is preferred and will be viewed more readily with other articles on the same page. Again, remember, graphics must not be copyright. The bulletin editor will assist with layouts, but ample time must be available to produce them.
